Security researchers have identified a new Android malicious software family called Manic, which functions as a banking trojan, spyware, and remote access tool. This threat targets users across multiple European countries by exploiting the Android Accessibility API to capture keystrokes, intercept SMS codes, and remotely control infected smartphones. A distinguishing feature of Manic is its ability to exfiltrate stolen data through intermediate compromised devices using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, even when the primary victim's device lacks an active internet connection.
