Google has resolved 1442 security issues across the last three versions of its Chrome browser. This significant increase in addressed vulnerabilities is attributed to the integration of AI technologies, which help identify problems, validate reports, and even propose patches. In Chrome 149 and 150 alone, 1072 bugs were eliminated—more than any previous 23 releases combined. An additional 370 flaws were fixed in Chrome 151, with 349 discovered internally by Google engineers. Among these, seven were classified as critical. One notable fix was CVE-2026-3545">CVE-2026-3545, a 13-year-old critical bug in the Navigation component that could allow sandbox escape and local file access. To reduce the risk window between patch release and user adoption, Google announced a shift to a two-week update cycle with weekly security patches starting in early 2026.
